 N O T I C E   O F   E L E C T I O N

TO THE MEMBERS AND RETIREES OF THE SOUTHBRIDGE RETIREMENT SYSTEM

 

The Southbridge Retirement Board would like to take this opportunity to inform all members and retirees of the Southbridge Retirement System that an election will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing a member to serve on the Southbridge Retirement Board for a period of three (3) years from July 21, 2023 to July 20, 2026.

 

Members in service and retirees of the Southbridge Retirement System may qualify as a candidate by filing with the Southbridge Retirement Board an official nomination paper signed by a least twenty (20)  members of the Southbridge Retirement System.  Nomination papers must be signed by the candidate and will be available via email ,mail or in person beginning Monday, April 10, 2023.

 

Nomination papers must be received in the Office of the Southbridge Retirement Board by Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.  Nomination papers received after the previously stated day and hour will not be accepted.

 

The names of the candidates who have been duly nominated will be printed on the ballot.  Ballots containing official voting instructions will be mailed to members and retirees on June 8, 2023.  If you have not received a ballot by June 17, 2023, please notify the Retirement Board Office. In the event of non contested nomination, (only one candidate) there will be no ballot mailed and the candidate will be announced as elected by declaration. 

 

Ballots may be mailed or returned in person to the Office of the Southbridge Retirement Board, Southbridge Town Hall, 41 Elm Street, First Floor, Southbridge, MA and must be received by Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.  No ballot received after the aforesaid date and time will be considered valid.
